From 31st January to 9th February 2026, Melan Ground in Laxmisagar, Bhubaneswar became a place of quiet transformation as Upanishadic Gyanamrit – Quest for Happiness brought together seekers, devotees, and community members for ten days of spiritual learning and reflection. Guided by the divine grace of Shri Radha-Krishna and the compassionate wisdom of H.H. Raseshwari Devi Ji, the program offered participants not just knowledge, but an opportunity to pause, reflect, and reconnect with themselves.

The opening day set a serene and devotional tone. The program began with aarti and prayers, filling the gathering with reverence and anticipation. The inaugural session was graced by several distinguished dignitaries who joined in honoring the spiritual significance of the occasion. Shri Manmohan Samal, BJP President of Odisha, offered maalyarpan to Pujaniya Devi Ji as a gesture of respect and welcome. Shri Krushna Chandra Mohapatra, Hon’ble Minister of Housing and Urban Development & Public Enterprise, and Shri Jagannath Pradhan, senior BJP leader, conveyed their warm wishes. During the discourse, Shri Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister of Odisha, joined the gathering and presented a bouquet. Other respected personalities, including Dr. Badrinath Patnaik, Chairman of St. Xavier International School, were also present, adding grace and dignity to the event.

Yet beyond the formal presence of dignitaries, what truly shaped the program was the spirit of sincere participation. Each day, people from different walks of life gathered with openness and curiosity, drawn by a shared desire to understand happiness in a deeper and more lasting way.

Over the course of ten days, the discourses explored the timeless wisdom of the Upanishads and their relevance to modern living. With clarity and compassion, Devi Ji explained the difference between fleeting pleasure and true inner contentment. The teachings gently encouraged listeners to look beyond external achievements and recognize the peace that arises from self-awareness and understanding.

As the days passed, the gathering developed a rhythm of devotion and reflection. Chanting created a sense of shared energy, while moments of silence allowed individuals to turn inward. Many participants found themselves gradually slowing down, listening more deeply, and reflecting more honestly. What began as attendance slowly became involvement. What began as listening gradually became introspection.

One of the most striking aspects of the program was its accessibility. Profound philosophical ideas were explained in ways that felt practical and relatable. Attendees did not feel like passive listeners, but active participants in a journey of understanding. Families attended together, students listened with curiosity, and elders reflected with quiet depth. Despite their different backgrounds, all were united by a common search for meaning and peace.

When the discourse series concluded on 9th February, the sense of completion was accompanied by a desire to go deeper. For those wishing to continue their spiritual immersion, a three-day retreat followed the main program, offering a more focused and contemplative environment.

The retreat created a space of simplicity and stillness. Through meditation, guided reflection, devotional practice, and periods of silence, participants were encouraged to experience the teachings directly. Removed from daily distractions, many became more aware of their thoughts, habits, and inner patterns.

Silence played a central role during these days. Initially unfamiliar to some, it gradually revealed a sense of calm and clarity. Participants described the experience as grounding, healing, and deeply personal. The retreat allowed them not only to understand the teachings intellectually, but to internalize them through lived experience.

For many, these three days became the natural culmination of the entire program. The insights gained during the discourses found space to settle and deepen. Reflection became more personal, awareness more steady, and understanding more intimate.

As the retreat concluded, a quiet sense of gratitude filled the hearts of those present. The program had offered knowledge, but more importantly, it had created space for transformation. Participants returned to their daily lives carrying renewed awareness, calmer minds, and a deeper understanding of what true happiness means.

Upanishadic Gyanamrit was not merely a spiritual event held over several days. It was a shared journey of learning, reflection, and inner discovery. It reminded everyone that lasting happiness does not arise from external circumstances, but from understanding oneself more clearly and living with greater awareness.

Though the gatherings have ended and Melan Ground has returned to its usual rhythm, the impact of those days continues quietly within the hearts of those who attended. The journey that began in devotion now continues inward — in reflection, in mindfulness, and in the ongoing search for truth.

For many, Upanishadic Gyanamrit was not an ending, but a beginning — a gentle step toward a more conscious and meaningful way of living.
